thumb Comprehensive Bike Fit Matches Bike to Rider
Posted on 05.11.2011

By Jeni Jewell

Whether it’s a stiff neck after a long ride, tight hamstrings, sore wrists, numb toes, or any other pains that come with the saddle, a few adjustments to your bike can change how you feel when you’re cruising, racing or with the post-ride.

With the purchase of any bike, riders receive a floor fit. This standard fitting typically includes finding the right frame size for the customer’s height, moving the seat up or down according to leg length, and adjusting the stem.

A comprehensive bike fit takes it one step further.  More like ten steps further, according to riders who’ve benefited from the detailed service.  Rick Bagley, owner of the Sports Rack in Marquette, fit 100 riders in 2010, with training he received from the Trek Fit School, in 2009. The five day school took place at the Trek Factory in Waterloo, Wisconsin.

Morning People
Posted on 05.05.2011

By Jeni Jewell

Have you ever noticed that people who exercise in the morning seem happier than others who go later in the day?

My favorite time to ride is the morning. There is a calm beauty as the sun begins its westward journey each day. In that stillness it’s easier to hear the birds chirping and the waves lapping onto shore.  Those hushed moments help me relax and enjoy the beautiful the Lake Superior shoreline.
