Sand traps, the beating sun, and tight chicanes made for a grueling, grand-prix style cyclocross race that left riders jockeying for position at Marquette’s River Park, October 9th, 2011.
Fresh back from the Cat II/III class at the USGP of CX in Madison, Tyler Jenema wasted no time claiming his first victory of the UPCROSS 2011 season.

The start of another beautiful fall weekend promises a great backdrop for the third race in the UPCROSS Series, to take place this Sunday, October 9, 2011 at the River Park Sports Complex, in Marquette.
The venue offers a mix of singletrack, obstacles and a spectator friendly views of the course. Races start at 1 p.m., with the final race, the Men’s A Race scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. Race entry is $10.
The UPCROSS Series then heads to the Keweenaw for the fourth and fifth races of the points series, Ocotober 15 and 16, 2011.

Old city stairwells, full sections of sidewalk and long forgotten paved roads - these remnants of a town once standing in Old Towne Negaunee were the perfect stage for the second Cyclocross race in the UPCROSS 2011 season, on Sunday.

The unusually warm fall day drew nearly 50 racers for the four races, sponsored by the Range Mountain Bike Club, with a large field for the Men’s A race. Over a minute ahead of any competitor, Tyler Gauthier cinched first place in the Men’s A race, at 53:04.
